Questa fotocamera è l’evoluzione della riuscitissima Canon G10 ed utilizza un sensore CCD con risoluzione da 10 megapixel e migliorata sensibilità alla luce. L’obiettivo rimane lo stabilizzato 28-140mm del modello precedente.
Il display LCD è da 2,8 pollici snodabile. La velocità di sync con i flash arriva ora a 1/2000s ed è stata aggiunta una porta HDMI. Grazie alla miglior sensibilità alla luce ed al processore Digic IV questa fotocamera dovrebbe consentire scatti con tempi più corti.
